Here it is! The recipe for the waffles that we got to enjoy last weekend. It was my family baby shower! I haven't had time to post anything about it yet, but thought I better hurry and get the waffle recipe up! Here it is. They are delicious. Not a joke! The only downside is that they are not quick to make because of the yeast....but they are worth the wait! I will make some this weekend, and post pictures of these delights....
Belgian Waffles
1/4 c. warm water
1 pkg yeast
1 t. sugar
1/2 t. salt
2 c. warm milk (1%, 2%, or whole), he warms his in the microwave
2 c. flour
1 cube butter, melted
Use a large mixing bowl!
Combine yeast with water. Stir. Mix in sugar, salt, and milk. Add melted butter and then flour. Will rise in 2-3 hours (mild yeast taste) or if you like it "yeasty", you can let it sit out overnight. It will quadruple in size.
Before cooking, add 2 eggs, and 1/4 t. baking soda.
Will make 5-6 Belgian Waffles
P.S. They are delicious!!!!!
