Family Pictures

We took some family pictures over Christmas when we were in California. Here are a few. They took forever to take because we were doing some awesome tri-pod stuff. But we a got a few good ones...

Amazing...

I saw this video for the first time a while ago, and recently came across it again. They have too much time on their hands but it is pretty entertaining!

And the Winner is....

With a whopping 13 out of 16 votes. Picture 2 wins. I personally loved what picture 1 brought to the table, I loved the color, and how well you can see his cute little lips and his pretty eyes. I love the high contrast in picture 1 because the color just pops that much more. But as most agreed, picture 2 just shows his personality better. So picture 2 wins. Thanks to all that voted.

Man He's Cute...

Let me be a doting mom for a minute. Kade is so cute. I love him to pieces. He's getting bigger. Still he hasn't gotten to be too big yet, not even 20 pounds. He crawls now. We still need to get it on camera because it's like he's doing the worm. It's hilarious. He's definitely a boy, he climbs all over everything! The kid doesn't sit still as often anymore! I can't believe he is 8 and a half months old now. It's crazy. He's just a little man.

I Need Another Opinion..

I know I am extremely demanding. I need another opinion. Which picture of Kade do you like more? I am not saying what it is for because I don't want to create some sort of prejudice. I realize that the two are very different, they show Kade in two different ways, but I love them both and I can't decide. Anyway, please comment and let me know your vote

Picture 1I love this one because of his eyes and his little lips, he just looks so darn cute. I also really like the color in this one.

Picture 2
Obviously I love this one because he is smiling. It shows his personality a little more.

So it's up to you, picture 1 or picture 2?
Also please don't stop commenting on the post below, I am still really interested to know everyone's thoughts on the matter. Thanks!

Would You Rather...

So I shouldn't be blogging, I should be getting caught up with homework after our move, but this has been on my mind and I am just going to post it so maybe I will stop thinking about it.

Lately I feel very overwhelmed, and I think that I am actually building this post up a lot more than needed. I'm stupid but give me a break. We recently had the Summer Olympics which were incredible, there's always some college sport going on, and American Idol just started. (I'm not even sure if I am going to watch this season just because I'll be honest I am a little tired of it.) All these things happening have got me thinking, there are so many incredibly talented people in the world. SO MANY. Now referring back to the title of this post, I am going to ask a simple question. Please please leave a comment. I am really curious to know what people feel.

Would you rather...

Be incredible at one thing (a sport, singing, telling jokes etc.)

OR

pretty good at a lot of things?

And tell me why please.

Aaron and I often talk about this, and he so badly wishes that he was good enough at one sport to be in the Olympics or on a professional team. I on the other hand am grateful that he is good at a lot of sports. Those lifestyles demand so much attention, and I guess I am a little selfish but I want to actually see and spend time with my husband. I also think that Heavenly Father knows us quite well and knows that when it would really come down to it, Aaron would miss being with is family during all the times he would be away for a game or training.

Then there is my wish, there are a lot of things that I wish I could be incredible at. I know I will never be an award winning photographer, or ever compete in the US Open (especially not anymore!) and part of me is a little sad about that. Granted I am incredibly grateful for the skills and talents I have, but probably because of the world, I start to feel like what I can do just isn't good enough. Which is I'm sure where Aaron is coming from too.

Anyway, let me know what you think. What would you rather??

Our First Sledding Adventure

Jordan and Kylee are up visiting this week from California and they really wanted to go sledding. Aaron and I haven't been sledding since we have known each other. We decided it would be fun, but realized it would also be difficult given the fact that we don't have sleds. Apparently there aren't a lot of people we know that do. Ok so we only asked two people, because it was a little last notice. Anyway, Jordan went to get some sleds and they only had one. So he purchased just the one sled and we all shared it. Good times. I was there more for picture taking. If you would like to see more there are plenty, just click HERE. There are so many pictures! We had a lot of fun, Kade loves the snow. At first he was a little confused as to why he was being put in a "I can't put my arms down." suit but he got used to it!

Getting a taste of the local snow... Doesn't look like a fan but the rest of the time we were there he was trying to eat the snow. Although his hands were covered by his snow suit, he kept trying to pick the snow up and eat it. Very cute. Kind of disgusting.

Kade makes this face all the time. Love it! We zipped him up in Aaron's jacket so they could go down together.

Just after their first run.

Kylee being her spastic self...

Jordan in the process of biting it!!
Super sledder!

Seriously?

So crazy thing happened. My aunt sent me this email telling me that she went shopping in Idaho Falls and saw this store.... what?

Pretty Morning.

There are so many reasons I love living in Utah. And call me crazy but one of my many loves for the state is the weather here. It has been snowing the last couple of days and I decided (as long as you aren't driving and you are in a warm blanket or something) snow is the most peaceful weather. Just watching it fall is so soothing. Anyway, this morning the snow has stopped and there was SO MUCH fog. It was so cool. Obviously I could not pass up this opportunity. I took Aaron to school and hurried home so I could get my camera and get some pictures. I have wanted to do fog-tree pictures my whole life! Ok that is an exaggeration, but for a really long time. So while clothed in pajama pants, fuzzy socks and crocs, I trudged through knee deep snow to get these pictures. So WORTH iT! These were taken just across the street from our apartment complex. Now I have never considered myself a landscape photographer. It isn't my strongest area to say the least. But I am pretty happy with how these turned out!

This last one was taken from our balcony.

Happy New Year!

We celebrate the new year with my family. It was fun. We played Farkle, ate the traditional fondue (it was delicious) and made as much noise possible when 2009 approached. 2008 is a year we will for sure never forget, but we are looking forward to 2009 and new changes happening to us this year! Here are a few pictures. They call also be viewed here.Kade looked pretty cute in his New Year celebration apparel. Aaron dressed festive, but was on the computer working for a lot of the night.

Becca and Brock had so much fun playing with Kade while we were there. I have never seen Kade laugh as hard as he does when Uncle Brock is around. He absolutely adores Brock. It is so cute! Kelsey and Dan were there for a little bit at the beginning of our night so I made sure to capture this cute picture of them.
Aaron and my parents acting crazy.
Jordan is a nerd. He'll act all quiet and too cool for school, but really he is the most weird of all of us!
This is Jordan and his "pretty lady". He loves this dog more than anything. It's so funny.
