Kade

He's 6.5 months now. I should have posted this two weeks ago, but I keep forgetting, and tomorrow I will be taking his 6 month pictures... Here are a few of his milestones so far...

He is eating solids and loves them.

He can drink juice.

He can drink from a sippy cup, though he hasn't quite mastered the task.

He dances and he thinks it is hilarious to do so.

He claps. (this may be the cutest thing I have ever seen him do)

He laughs SO much.

He has two cute little teeth.

If you hold his hands and help him, he will walk.

He rolls over constantly. (this was quite the battle, so we are very proud)

He sits up all by himself and rarely falls over anymore!

He is on the verge of crawling, probably will be before Christmas!

He sleeps until 11!!!!

He reaches for mommy all the time which makes me melt.

Aaron makes him laugh the best, but when he is sad, tired, or hurt he just wants to cuddle with mommy. He really knows who we are now and I love it. He loves it when we sing the ABC's to him. They are his favorite and when no other song will calm him, the ABC's will. He is such a good little boy and we feel so blessed.

Toofs

The following pictures are an attempt to catch Kade's two first teeth on camera. They aren't very big yet, because they haven't fulling come in, but you can definitely see them. The best way we can get him to open his mouth is by feeding him. That's when he opens up the best! As you can see, it took quite a few pictures to get the shot, but here you go....

The above is the reason why we often have to pin his hands down. He is not patient, and if we aren't fast enough with the spoon, in go the hands! He will then proceed to rub the food remaining in his mouth and surrounding his mouth, around the rest of his face. Eyebrows, eyelashes, you name it, he will have food there.... I love this boy.

In this picture you can see the food spread throughout his face.

We almost had it....

And there they are. Finally. Needless to say, he hasn't been such a happy camper lately.

Funny Aunt Serena

We had Aaron's cousin Steve and sister Serena over for dinner last night and Kade thought that Aunt Serena was the funniest ever. We have never heard him laugh this hard.

Gingerbread House Festival @ Thanksgiving point

We went to the gingerbread house festival with Kelsey and Kylee while they were here for the weekend. We also went with Aunt Holly and Aunt Jeny. There were so many people there because there was a dance group performing. It was lots of fun and very Christmas-y. .. There were some AMAZING gingerbread houses! Be prepared, there are pictures galore!

This one was called the "Compilation of Diversity" or something like that. It was incredible. If you look you can see Big Ben, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Statue of Liberty, etc. It is all made of candy, even the water, it is just hard candy. It's amazing. Some people are so creative!
This is the back view!

This one has a really cool dragon in it. Can you see it? Again, all made of candy.

I liked the rock candy chimney on this one.

Santa, just chillin....

These ones were so detailed. I couldn't believe how creative they were. Someone spent a TON of time on these!

The Taj Mahal

Cindy Lou Who's house.

Kade and Great Aunt Jeny

Kade and Shannon were dancing. Pretty cute!

I can't resist his thumb sucking. I know I should be stopping it, so that it doesn't become a habit, but it's just too cute. I can't help it.

Aunt Kylee and Kade were pretty tuckered out, so they napped when we got home!

Lots of Posts and Some Cute Pictures

There are a lot of posts so don't stop here, but these are just some recent pictures of Kade, he is getting so big. I love his cute little personality, he is still a really good baby. I think he is teething though because he has been kind of grouchy lately. He currently has his first cold. It's sad with his little runny nose.

All in a Night...

So yesterday Aaron and I were at school, and I took some more pictures of the campus, because it just looked so pretty. The campus by the way is UVU, to answer a question previously asked in a comment on a previous post. So it was raining, but so pretty. I love this time of year.

And this is what we woke up to this morning. Snow, and a lot of it! It is my favorite kind of snow though. It comes and then it goes. It doesn't stay around forever. Anyway, winter is here. It's official!

Here are Kade and Aaron watching the snow fall out our bedroom window. I thought they looked cute.

I Voted

We "I VOTED" yesterday. That's right. We're awesome.

Apple Sauce....Tere This is For You!

My cousin Teresa says she doesn't know how to can. In my canning experience (which isn't a lot, but a decent amount) apple sauce is one of the easiest. Grape juice is the very easiest, but apple sauce is close. So for you Tere, I am going to post step by step directions so you are able to can your own! Usually I make it with my cousin Lisa, but she didn't have a lot of time this year. She is the one that taught me how to do it. Ok so here you go...

First buy apples....

Second: Quarter your apples....

Third: Boil your apples until they are soft, you can tell because the skin kind of comes off...

Fourth: Drain the apples...

Fifth: Mash the apples. (This is a tricky step if you don't have the machine. If you don't have it, you need to peel and core your apples before you do this. The machine I have filters out the "guts". If you don't have it, you can probably just do it in the blender or a food processor.)

These are the guts....

See Lisa this is what happens when you aren't making applesauce with me!

It's kind of gross looking in this picture. It makes it look like fat or something. But I promise it tastes delicious.

Once you are done mashing, add a little of this and a little of that, to taste....
Cinnamon and Sugar

This is the finished product, once they are in the jars, put them in a water bath canner for something like 30 min? For more information on that, just email me....

Aaron enjoying the tasty treat!
