Here I am laying in my hospital bed. Alone. I had a pretty different night last night. The last few nights I haven't slept well. I wake up early in the morning (3am) with intense abdominal pain. It lasts a few hours and then goes away. And by a few I mean normally 6. Anyway it happened again Sunday night. Except this time I didn't even get to bed yet. It was 130 when it hit and it hit hard! Harder than the other two nights combined! I couldn't breathe. This freaked Aaron out and he insisted (though there was much fighting on my end) that I go to the hospital. Finally after figuring he isn't going to back down, we called my good friend Shelly to come over and sleep at our house so we didn't have to wake Kade! Thanks again Shelly!!!!
When I got to the hospital they drew some blood and after being asked the exact same questions 5 times by 5 different people, the doctor ordered an ultrasound on my gallbladder.
It's a good thing he did because it is full of gall stones! Not only is it full, but it's over-flowing. Gall stones have fallen into my bile ducts....
So fun right? I know. The doctor said "normally (which means I don't fall into that category and never do) would send you home and you'd follow up with a surgeon on your own to schedule surgery to have it removed. However, it needs to come out now!" He called the surgeons that would be in today and got me in as soon as possible.
I had my gallbladder removed this morning at around 10:30. Tomorrow I will have another procedure to remove the stones in the bile duct and then Wednesday I will get to go home.

So aside from being exhausted and lonely in my recover room, I can't wait to never feel that crappy again.

I had no idea that you had surgery! I hope you start feeling better soon! Love ya
Oh my heavens Nickell! I'm so sorry... let me tell ya, although I wasn't the one personally in the hospital, I know how much it stinks to have to be there (from when Cachey was in the hospital). I hope you get feeling better really soon. I'm sorry you had to go through all that. That is no fun.
Oh my! Nickell, I hope you feel better!! I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm glad you listened to your hubby!! Good luck w/ recovery.
I suppose this means that I won't get an email reply from you for a couple of days.
Seriously, I know very closely what you were feeling. I had my gall bladder removed in March. I only had one serious attack that lasted for only about an hour, but it was pain that I didn't want to repeat. The difference is that I knew the stones were there as a result of a CT scan done a year earlier. They just hadn't started to bother me, yet. But, that one attack motivated me. I got it removed ASAP.
God bless you and good luck with your recover.
Grandpa
