Happy Anniversary to Us!

5 years ago today I married my best friend.
He loves me and I love him.

Green Thumb? Maybe...

A few months ago we planted a garden. I had fantastic intentions of posting about it every month. Well that definitely didn't happen. I have always wanted a garden. We always had one when I was growing up and I loved it. I love the idea of being able to walk into your back yard and pick all the veggies you need to make a salad, or anything else veggie related! This year we finally got it! Aaron liked the idea of having a garden but didn't realize the goodness we had in store for us! He has become addicted. He gets so excited when we walk out there and there is stuff to pick. I have to say I am addicted to it too. I was a little nervous that this year would just end up being a trial and error year. I didn't think we'd get anything but a good lesson from it. I was wrong to say the least. So here we go. The story of our garden.

You can't plant a garden without a plan. So I made one.

Kade likes being a good helper.

Planting tomatoes. I didn't know this but my mom told me a good tip for tomatoes. If you are planting a tomato plant, it is best to plant the plant on it's side. Sounds weird but it worked! My neighbor said our tomatoes are huge compared to hers!

The night we planted we ended so late. I know this is a fabulous picture of me and you're all thinking, "Sheesh why doesn't she model!" I know. I'm just showing you how late we worked on the garden that first night.

This is how our garden looked before we left for California on July 19th.

And this is the garden we came back to on July 26th. It's all huge. The corn doubled in size, the pepper plants doubled in size. It's all just gotten gigantic in 1 week! Aaron says it's not a garden it's a jungle.

This is our bounty. The fruits of our labors. The hard work definitely pays off!

#1 All Star!

Aaron has been trying to get Kade to wear a hat for a while now. He is trying to prepare for Disneyland. Well this morning it happened. He left it on for at least 30 min. Aaron this post is for you since you were at work and missed it all.

Summer Fun.

The color on these is so bad so just pay no mind OK? Well I took these a while ago but just haven't posted them yet! It's finally warm enough that Kade is enjoying is little swimming pool. He swims while I garden. It's heaven!

"Something's wrong with your toilet."

It's time to baby proof our toilet. Kade has a new obsession with putting things in the toilet. Things that shouldn't go in a toilet. Like remotes....

Our 4th of July Celebration!

We had a great 4th! I always love the BBQs and spending time with family. This year we were at my Aunt Jeny's house. The afternoon was spent eating yummy BBQ food, playing beach ball volleyball, tennis and eating popsicle! It was good fun. Unfortunately our outfits weren't totally creative. The 4th kind of came to quickly this year so we hurried to Old Navy in the morning to get our tacky 4th of July shirts.

I just have to say I got some incredible pictures of my cousins playing beach ball volleyball... it was hilarious!

Jeny has a swing set in her backyard so we let Kade go down the slide a few times. He loved it. I didn't think he would because last time he went down a slide it terrified him. He just kept wanting to go down over and over!

Once it got dark we all headed to the Albertsons in Provo to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks. Afterwards we went back to our house and did a few fireworks of our own and then watched Taken. Not a very patriotic movie but it's so good!

New Set Up...

So Kade has an area in the family room that is blocked off! It helps keep him out of everything else in the house. His area is furnished with all of his toys! We have had this little table and chair for a while. I used to use it for newborn shoots but have since started using a different table. Anyway, we figured he is old enough to use it now. Here he is having his morning snack at his new table.

Probably like 10 minutes after I took these he made himself throw up! He gags himself over and over again. Any tips to make it stop. Aaron suggested putting vinegar on his fingers.....
