I Need Help...

So much help. I was retarded enough to take a history class online. I was thinking, "hey, I like History. It should be pretty easy." Boy was I wrong. I love learning about history if someone is teaching and loves teaching it. They find a way to make it interesting. For my online class we have to read a chapter and take a quiz. Sounds simple enough. I was thinking I'd breeze through it with no problems! Again, wrong. I am so bored reading this text. Not only am I bored reading it, but it makes me feel like an idiot because it uses a lot of words I don't understand. It's so wordy and so boring. Each chapter is about 30 pages. 30 pages of boring. I have to read two of these chapters a week and I am spending every waking minute (besides those that are enjoyed by getting my family into Lost) reading this ridiculous textbook. Which makes life more difficult with doing weddings and most importantly being a mom. Needless to say I am struggling big time in this class and I am desperate for ideas on how to get through it!!!

Our Valentines Day

This year we did Valentines day a little differently. On Friday the 13th, our ward was having a Valentines Dinner/Dance for the adults in the ward so we had Serena babysit and went to that, then we came home and had some chocolate covered strawberries and watched "Nights in Rodanthe." It was such a long day and I was tired so I actually fell asleep. But not until after enjoying these strawberries!!! Look at the stems on these babies!
Then on the actual day of love, we did nothing. I actually had a family picture sitting in Midway that morning, and Aaron had an engagement shoot that afternoon. We drove through the snow to get to the family pictures because they were inside, but then engagements were canceled so we just went home. It was pretty uneventful. But Friday was fun. It was the first real date we have been on since Kade was born. Thanks for babysitting Serena and Emily?? (her roommate whose name I sadly forgot)

Pretty Day

Today I had some family pictures in Midway. On the way up there it was snowing quite a bit but once we got there it was beautiful. I took these on the way back! I have been trying to work on my landscape photography skills hoping to improve them... And once again I am going to say that I think snow is so pretty! It's just cold and cold isn't fun, but it really is pretty.

There were so many people ice-fishing on the Deer Creek Reservoir. It was cool.

Look how pretty!!

New Domain.

So I have come to realize that I don't like the word clan. I just think of the KKK when I hear it, and since it was part of our domain.... it was time for a change. I used to cringe when I'd tell people our blog address.. Now it isn't so bad. There is a temporary blairclan2.blogspot.com up to "redirect" you to this new address. Hopefully you all find it.

http://blairit.blogspot.com

ALSO!! Please comment and leave your blog address for me. When I changed the name on the blog it automatically deleted my blog list. Stupid! So please leave them for me! Thanks!!! I've been doing my best to get the ones I had from other people that have already left theirs. Check and see if yours is there. If it isn't please leave it in a comment.

He's Getting So Big.

Today Kade is 9 months old. I can't believe how big he is getting, and by big I mean old because he certainly isn't big! Last time he was weighed, he was a whopping 17 pounds. He's in the 35th percentile for height and weight so he's still a little guy. Here are some of the things he has been up to lately....

1. He had his first real play date with his friend Lucy this week. (The reason I say real is because we have hung out with friends that have kids around his age, but this is the first time he understood. And it was just a friend. He has played with my cousin Shannon before. She's 2, and makes him laugh hysterically!)

2. He pretends to cough all the time. (Note previous post.)

3. He's a big time mama's boy. He loves his daddy but when mama's around, there's no competition.

4. He's eating real people food. He has crackers and fruit. He loves food. It's cute. Today he had some pieces of grapes. It was hilarious because they were sour, but he loved them.

5. He LOVES books. I will put all his toys out and some of his books and he goes for the books completely ignoring the rest of his toys. I love it!

6. His favorite shows are Sesame Street and Signing Time. Sesame Street makes him crack up, and Signing Time makes him dance.

7. He is climbing ALL OVER the place. It's crazy, he gets off the couch by himself, he can get off my bed by himself.

8. He pulls himself up. If he's sitting in his crib he can pull himself up and if he's sitting on the ground he can pull himself up so he's standing at the couch.

9. If his balance was better he'd be walking. He wants to SO bad!

10. He has 3 almost 4 teeth. It has made for a fun couple of weeks. He has two that he got when he was 5 months, and now the top front teeth are coming in.

11. He's so ticklish and loves to laugh and dance and play.

12. His favorite song is the ABC song.

13. He can drink out of a straw and a sippy cup really well! He loves drinking his extremely watered down juice that is disgusting. But he loves it.

14. He is crawling ALL over the place!!!

We love him so much and we are so proud of how smart he is getting! Here are a few pictures of him looking at his books and then the straw. There were too many that I liked....

Faker

For the past couple of weeks we have been a bunch of sickies, coughs, nausea you name it. Anyway, Aaron had a really bad cough and Kade decided to be just like his daddy and fake it. So here you go. When ever someone coughs, he pretends he has to cough too. Enjoy!

New Posts Galore

I have posted quite a bit today and yesterday. Make sure you don't miss a thing and scroll down to view the 5 new posts! (This one makes 6)

BFF's

I love these girls. I have been friends with them since 8th grade, and some of them since 5th grade. Every once in a while we get together and have lunch and just have fun girl time. Today we went to Gloria's Little Italy in Provo, and then went to Erin's (pink dress) house for desert. She made a yummy triffle dealie with raspberries. It was delish. It was 4 hours of fun. Thanks girlies. I needed today a lot!

Me, Marisa, Katie, Kathleen, Erin

The dessert I will probably think about for a while. Yum.

He's Mobile.

This is where he started.

This is where he ended.

It's Cold Outside.

I took these a while ago but I liked them so here they are. I love icicles. I think they are so pretty when the sun is coming through them. Anyway, my little brother's best friend left for his mission a few weeks ago and we went over to their house to visit. They had a really cool icicle that was coming from a strand of their Christmas lights. Here are a few pictures. I just thought it looked cool!

You Have To.

If you are in the Utah County area, you must go to this art show. This lady is one of my art teachers at UVU and she has some really cool techniques. They are all photographs that she has taken and manipulated with different materials. It's really interesting. Here is the info:

Kaleidoscope: Work by Barbara Frazier
February 6-28, 2009
The Covey Center for the Arts gallery is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is free.

This is one of the pieces that Barb did. She's amazing. I look at her stuff and I can't even imagine how she came up with this stuff! It's incredible. It was so fun to go and do something a little different from our norm. I am glad there are such talented people out there that produce such artwork for people to just go look at. It was so fun!

This piece was my favorite.

My boys looking at the art.

Ever?

Question. Have you ever been shocked that, while singing a song from "The Little Mermaid", your husband joins in and knows more of the words than you do? He claims that it is because of his sister Heather. "The Little Mermaid" is her favorite Disney movie. I think he secretly loves it.
